Solution Focused Psychology wants to help you explore your feelings and experiences in a safe environment, without fear of judgement, as there is no reason to be ashamed or embarrassed. They are there to listen to you and offer education, guidance, support and diagnosis if necessary.
Fortunately, we have seen a rising awareness of the importance of mental health in our community and the positive impact that talking about our mental health can have. It’s ok to not be ok! Then once you have taken the brave step to contact one of our therapists, it is ok to feel nervous. For so many years, society has made it hard to talk openly about our struggles, and that it makes us appear weak. Importantly, everyone has a role in diffusing mental health stigma. People should educate themselves about mental health issues, and better comprehend what life is like for those living with these conditions. It is necessary to become better informed when realizing that yourself, a friend, family member, or coworker is living with a mental illness. We are all in this together.
“Owning our STORY and loving ourselves through that process is the BRAVEST thing that we will ever do.”
